To Whom It May Concern:

It is with great enthusiasm that I submit this letter of recommendation on behalf of Denise Kreiger.

In addition to my role as Assistant Director of Leadership Programs for the Rutgers Center for Organizational Development and Leadership, I also serve as a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Communication at Rutgers University.

It was a great pleasure to work with Denise on several different projects during her time as the Senior Instructional Design/Technology Specialist in the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers. Specifically, we worked closely together on the re-design of the hybrid and online sections of the undergraduate Public Speaking course. We also had an opportunity to re-design the two introductory courses in the Leadership in Organizations and Community Specialization within the Department of Communication. Denise played an instrumental role in helping me design the course syllabi, assignments, and corresponding materials for each of these courses. She provided exceptional feedback throughout the process, and she taught me many best practices and guiding principles for effective course design. As a result of working with Denise, I am much more confident in my ability to design courses that demonstrate best practices in online and hybrid learning. Additionally, as a result of our collaborations, we were able to create scalable course frameworks that could be exported and customized into new course sites on a number of learning management systems.

Denise and I also had an opportunity to present at several conferences on our collaborative work, including the Online Learning Consortium (Sloan) and NJEdge Faculty Showcase. She is well-respected in the field, and not surprisingly, all of her conference presentations are carefully prepared, well- delivered, and reflective of the central learning outcomes.

I very much enjoyed working with Denise. She pursues her work with a careful degree of attention and a steadfast commitment to student success. I am confident that she will continue to support interdisciplinary faculty in developing courses and curriculum that meet the needs of the contemporary learner.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this recommendation and please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,

Ralph Gigliotti, Ph.D.
